ABOUT KIMBERLY & HER PROCESS
"In the tapestry of life, we're all connected. Each one of us is a gift to those around us helping each other be who we are, weaving a perfect picture together.

Hello! I am Kimberly Davidson Bleau and I am the owner, designer, and creator at Kimberly Handwoven. I have been a weaver/spinner for 40+ years and have mastered many different techniques within the field of weaving, spinning, and dyeing. I enjoy using a multitude of different colors, types, and weights of yarn to create the uniqueness of each handcrafted product. Through the years my customers have been my greatest inspiration, and I love to make custom creations with creative input from my customers.
When creating each of my unique handwoven items, I utilize one of the five different sized four-harness floor looms I have within my studio. Each loom has its own purpose for the different types of scarves, blankets, or rugs that I weave. I generally put on approximately 45-yard warps (a warp is the thread that runs from front to back on the loom) using high-quality wool or cotton thread.
For my wool products, I use wool that I have procured from my long wool Coopworth and Wensleydale sheep. Every spring I shear them and then I send the raw wool to be processed into roving so I can then spin it into yarn and craft roving for felting. I use a Majacraft Rose Wheel for spinning single ply yarn which I then hand dye into a rainbow of different variegated colors.
